According to a report from The Sun, Arsenal are planning a massive clear-out in the summer.

The impact of the global pandemic has hit the club hard and even though Edu managed to get a ton of money off our wage bill last month, Arsenal might have to take further steps to cut the costs significantly.

The report says Mikel Arteta and Edu are already planning for the summer window – both incomings and potential sales. The Gunners are willing to listen to offers for as many as eight first-team stars, while David Luiz could be released after his deal expires.

Eight senior players transfer-listed

Alexandre Lacazette, signed by Arsene Wenger in 2017, will enter the final year of his contract this summer. Arteta recently claimed that a decision over his future will only be made at the end of the season. However, it looks like a decision has been made already and he will be sold.

Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira will also be axed from the squad. The report says Arsenal are looking for £25 million each for the two midfielders who are currently out on loan in Germany and Spain respectively. (Read full story here)

Sead Kolasinac will also be up for sale and Arsenal are willing to let him go for a nominal fee. Schalke have already expressed their interest to sign him permanently, but they will have to survive relegation first.

Four Hale End graduates could also be sold

Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka are making everybody at Hale End proud with their incredible performances. However, it looks like the pair could be the only academy graduates left in the senior squad this summer.

The report claims that Arsenal are open to offers for Joe Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah.

The former two are currently on loan at Newcastle and West Brom respectively. Their chances of regular game time at the Emirates look extremely slim, and Arsenal could well decide to cash-in.

Nelson is another one who is a long way off the starting XI. Nketiah too has fallen down the pecking order and the fact that Arsenal are open to selling him when they also want to get rid of Lacazette says a lot about Arteta’s opinion of him.
