Arsenal confirmed five weeks ago that David Luiz will leave the club as a free agent once his contract expires at the end of this month.

Unai Emery brought the defender in from Chelsea in 2019. He had his fair share of problems at times at Arsenal, but he played a massive part in helping us win the FA Cup last year, and Gooners will surely remember him for that.

Luiz, labelled as ‘exceptional‘ by Pep Guardiola, is one of the most experienced players in world football. His leadership skills are up there with the very best, and the way he nurtured the younger players in the squad made him extremely popular at Arsenal.

David Luiz could rejoin PSG after Arsenal exit

Arteta had the chance to extend Luiz’s deal by another year at Arsenal but he chose not to. The defender will be released at the end of this month, and if a latest report is to be believed, he could return to France to join Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain.

Le10 Sport claim today that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a huge fan of Luiz and would love him back at Le Parc des Princes in the coming days.

The Brazilian spent two years at the French capital and left a brilliant impression there. Everyone at PSG loves Luiz and it looks like the club’s president is now prepared to bring him back this summer.

Multiple reports in recent weeks have claimed that Marseille are in talks with Luiz about a move. Jorge Sampaoli is a big fan of the Brazilian and he has reportedly had multiple conversations with him over the last few weeks.

Rennes, another side from France, are also keen to sign Luiz. They are in negotiations with the Brazilian as well, and the report claims that them and Marseille are in a much stronger position than PSG at the moment.

However, if PSG really want Luiz, it shouldn’t really be too much of a problem for them to get him back in the coming days.
