It is looking like Arsenal have secured the services of Real Madrid sensation Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on loan until the end of this season.
The Norwegian was once viewed as the next big thing in world football, but things haven’t quite gone his way. However, he’s still only 22 and regular game time could do wonders for him.
Odegaard fills the void Arsenal currently have. Our defeat at Southampton showed just have vulnerable we are without someone like Emile Smith Rowe in attacking midfield.

The 20-year-old’s performances in recent weeks made a lot of people forget our problems, but they are very much there and Mikel Arteta has to fix it in the coming days.
A move for Odegaard is perfect for all parties involved. The young playmaker isn’t getting the minutes he needs at Real Madrid and Arsenal can offer him that while solving our own issues.
He can come in and change the course of our season and that will definitely help his progression. Real Madrid can get him back into the mix if he impresses, and they can do so while also making a tidy little profit.

Odegaard deal will cost Arsenal almost £4 million
The Sun revealed that Arsenal will pay £2 million to Real Madrid as a loan fee. The Gunners will also cover Odegaard’s entire salary which will set us back by another £2 million – well, almost.
The Norwegian currently earns £85,000-a-week at the Bernabeu. (Sportekz) He will presumably stay with us until the end of June, just like Dani Ceballos, which means that we will have to cover his wages for a week over five months.
That adds up to about £1.8 million which is a lot of money for a 22-year-old. However, he is a brilliant little player and Arsenal will not worry too much about this financial commitment, especially after we’ve got rid of Mesut Ozil’s £350,000-a-week wages.
