According to a report from The Telegraph, Newcastle United want to sign Joe Willock so badly that they’re willing to meet Arsenal’s demands this summer.

The Englishman has been Steve Bruce’s top target for over two months now. He promised Magpies fans that he will do everything possible to sign Willock from Arsenal, and the latest report shows that he wasn’t lying.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

The Magpies don’t have a lot of money to spend this summer, but they’re still willing to go above and beyond to sign the 21-year-old. That, however, will annoy Arsenal supporters, not because Newcastle want him, but as our asking price is ridiculously low.

Arsenal only want £22m from Newcastle for Joe Willock

It is looking more and more likely that Willock’s immediate future lies away from the Emirates. Mikel Arteta isn’t even giving him a start in pre-season games, which shows where he lies in the manager’s plans.

The 21-year-old has entered the final two years of his contract and if we want to get rid him, now’s the time. As a result, Edu has reportedly slapped a £22 million asking price for Willock, a demand Newcastle are willing to meet in the coming days.

If this deal goes through, Willock will become Newcastle United’s second most expensive signing in history. That just shows you how badly they want him, but Arsenal’s reported demand really is laughable.

Same old Arsenal

Since the transfer window opened last month, Arsenal fans have been worried about our potential sales. We have to offload a number of players to balance our squad, but history shows that we’re terrible sellers, and that was a big concern.

However, Willock’s phenomenal end to last season and Fabrizio Romano claiming that Arsenal are looking for “£40 million or £45 million” gave Gooners real hope about potentially making big money from his sale.

Sadly, it looks like it’s the same old Arsenal who have no idea how to sell. £22 million is half of what Willock is worth considering how good he was last season, and it really won’t be a surprise to see Newcastle make a massive profit on him in a few years time if they can get him this summer.
