Voetbal 24 revealed about a month ago that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry had told his former club to sign Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga this summer.
The 21-year-old has had two really impressive seasons for Les Mauves et Blancs, so much so, that his performances have drawn in comparisons to Spain and Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets. (CalcioMercato)
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Lokonga for well over a month now and it looks like this move could soon be completed.

Albert Sambi Lokonga to Arsenal deal is 99.9 per cent complete
Belgian outlet HLN have claimed today that Lokonga’s move from Anderlecht to Arsenal is 99.9 per cent complete.
The midfielder arrived in London a few days ago and is currently in quarantine. An official announcement is expected once he is out of isolation, and that shouldn’t take a long time now.
Lokonga will miss Arsenal’s pre-season tour to Scotland. However, he is expected to make the trip to the United States where the Gunners will take part in the Florida Cup later this month.

It really will be interesting to see how Lokonga fares in the Premier League. We all know he’s a talented young midfielder, but the demands of the English game are on another level compared to the Belgian Pro League, and that could make things difficult for him.
However, the young Belgian will not be asked to play every single game. He will be given all the time he needs to settle in, and learning from someone like Thomas Partey will surely help him develop into a fine player in the coming years.

Arsenal fans can’t wait to see Lokonga in action, and it looks like it’s only a matter of time now.
