According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have both been offered to La Liga giants Barcelona.

The Catalans are on the market looking for a new number nine as Xavi Hernandez is trying to turn things around at Camp Nou. As many as 10 strikers have been linked with Barca, including Timo Werner, Patrik Schick, Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

The four options mentioned above are unlikely to be available until the summer, which could open the door for Barcelona to table a bid for one of the two Arsenal stars this month.

Lacazette and Aubameyang have been offered to Barcelona

Lacazette has entered the final six months of his contract and is almost guaranteed to leave the club at the end of this season.

Aubameyang, on the other hand, has a little under 18 months left on his deal, but the Gabon star has fallen out of favour under Mikel Arteta after his disciplinary breach last month.

Both strikers, labelled as ‘brilliant‘ by Jamie Carragher, would be fantastic options for Barcelona, who are in a terrible position in La Liga at the moment. They are 17 points behind league leaders Real Madrid and they need all the help they can possibly get.

The Insider’s View:

Lacazette and Aubameyang are both nearing the end of their Arsenal careers, everybody can see that. However, it is extremely unlikely that Arteta will let the Frenchman walk away this month.

The former Lyon man has really stepped up since Auba was pushed out of the side. He has been brilliant and the way he’s nurturing all the young players around him makes him very important for us until the end of the campaign.

Aubameyang, however, could be offloaded if the right offer arrives. The Gabon star is now back from AFCON, but it doesn’t look like Arteta is willing to get him back into the side.

If Xavi really wants a top-quality striker, Aubameyang could be the man for him. The 32-year-old, despite all his struggles over the last 18 months, is still a world-class player and a change of scenery could help him get back to his best in the coming weeks and months.
