Le10 Sport revealed yesterday that Arsenal are doing everything possible to sign Rennes’ teenage sensation Eduardo Camavinga this summer.

The 18-year-old has been in the news for a while now for being one of the most talented young midfielders in France. He has been courted by some of the biggest clubs in world football over the last two years, and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his big move.

Despite only being 18, Camavinga has played 80 games for Rennes already. He has three senior international caps for France as well, and he is expected by many to get into Didier Deschamps’ squad for the Euros next month.

That will delay potential transfer negotiations, but he is very likely to leave Rennes this summer. Camavinga will enter the final year of his contract in a few weeks time, and if Les Rennais refuse to sell him now, they will lose one of their biggest-ever talents for free next year.

Arsenal, like all other interested clubs, would love to get him, but Rennes will reportedly hold out for at least £43 million. That is a lot of money for a teenager who’s on the final year of his contract, but don’t be surprised if he goes for a much higher fee this summer.

Football London labelled the rumour from France as ‘absolute rubbish’ yesterday, but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal supporters from being excited.
