Arsenal have had a lot of joy at the expense of Tottenham Hotspur recently.
The Gunners have historically been the better North London club, and that hasn’t changed in their last few meetings either.
Off the pitch as well, top players pick the Emirates over the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if they are given an opportunity. Eberechi Eze snubbed Spurs for Arsenal just this summer.
Now, another player could do the same – Antoine Semenyo.
Should Antoine Semenyo be Arsenal’s top transfer target in 2026? If not, who should be?
Is Semenyo good enough to play for Arsenal?
Antoine Semenyo prefers Arsenal over Tottenham
Semenyo is expected to be one of the biggest names on the transfer market in 2026.
The Ghana international has been incredible for Bournemouth over the years, but he has taken his game to a whole new level this season.
Semenyo scored six goals and provided three assists in his first seven games of this campaign. At that point, The Analyst branded him as ‘the best player in the Premier League’ ahead of Erling Haaland.
Goals and assists have dried up for Semenyo since, but he is still an incredible player, and a number of clubs will be keen to sign him in 2026.
The Sun claim that Tottenham Hotspur are really interested in the Ghanaian and would love to get him. But they could be left disappointed again.
That’s because the report says that Semenyo would rather join Arsenal or other big clubs like Manchester City or Liverpool over Tottenham.
If the Gunners have any real interest in Semenyo, they could repeat what they did with Eze in the summer.
If you were Andrea Berta and could sign any player in the world right now, who would it be and why?
Arsenal could embarrass Tottenham if they sign Antoine Semenyo
Tottenham were utterly humiliated in the summer when Arsenal hijacked their move to sign Eze at the eleventh hour.
What made it worse for Spurs was that the England international then scored a stunning hat-trick in his first North London Derby and helped the Gunners win 4-1.
Tottenham now want to sign Semenyo, and unsurprisingly, the player prefers Arsenal. If Andrea Berta pulls this off again, it would be really embarrassing for Spurs.
However, we just can’t see a world in which Mikel Arteta sanctions a move for Semenyo unless one of his current attackers leaves the club.
That makes a move to Liverpool or Manchester City far more likely in January.
