One of the stories of the summer transfer window was Arsenal hijacking Tottenham’s move for Eberechi Eze.
When all hope was gone, Andrea Berta acted rapidly to snatch Eze from Tottenham’s grasp, luring the Englishman to the Emirates.
It was a huge boost for the Gunners, and the player too, as Eze only ever wanted to sign for Arsenal, being a boyhood fan of the club.
On matchday four, the attacking midfielder is finally in line to make his debut at the Emirates, but first, international duty must conclude.

Eberechi Eze reacts to joining Arsenal over Tottenham
The 27-year-old is one of many Arsenal players in action over the international break, with one game remaining for England in this month’s World Cup Qualifiers.
Eze failed to impress for England against Andorra and will be hoping to do more when the Three Lions face Serbia on Tuesday night.
Before the action in Belgrade, Eze took the time to speak to the media, where he was asked to comment on his transfer to Arsenal by reporters.
The attacking midfielder was quizzed on whether he was ‘worried’ that he’d sign for Spurs instead of Arsenal.
“Worried? No. Because I play football,” Eze admitted.
“That’s what I do, and wherever I am, I want to be the best I can be, and I’m confident I’ll do that wherever I am.”
The £67m signing did stress that he was ‘grateful’ that Arsenal made a last-minute swoop to sign him, ending the chances of him signing for Spurs.
“I’m grateful that it’s Arsenal and that I’ve got the opportunity to play there and do what I do, and I’m looking forward to it.”
The playmaker was modest in his interview, given that it was revealed that Eze called Mikel Arteta about a transfer before the Gunners hijacked his proposed move to Tottenham.
Eze comments on his unveiling at the Emirates
On Saturday lunchtime, Arsenal fans will hope to see the new signing in action at the Emirates for the first time when Nottingham Forest visit.
Eze was unveiled to the Emirates moments after his transfer was announced, but has yet to play in front of a home crowd in red and white.
While speaking to the media on international duty, the Englishman shared how it felt to be showcased to the Emirates ahead of Arsenal’s win over Leeds United.
“I was trying to [take it all in] because as you know, you have that moment and then that’s it, gone,” he said.
“I was just there, looking at the crowd and watching everything happen, and it was a cool moment, more for my family, seeing what it meant to them. I think that’s the special thing for me.”
It’s been an incredibly emotional time for Eze over the past few weeks, with all eyes on the playmaker’s home debut on matchday four.
