Arsenal fans will always remember the impact that Oleksandr Zinchenko had on the club upon his arrival in 2022.
Mikel Arteta’s side had just fallen short in their pursuit of qualifying for the Champions League in the previous season and signed Zinchenko from Manchester City alongside Gabriel Jesus.
The pair elevated the Gunners into genuine Premier League title contenders and the team played some of the best football witnessed at the Emirates Stadium during the Arteta era.
However, both players are now struggling for first-team opportunities and AC Milan are interested in signing Zinchenko. His departure could be nearing after what he has just told the Italian giants.

Oleksandr Zinchenko willing to lower wage demands to secure Arsenal exit
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Ukrainian international Zinchenko is willing to negotiate on his wage demands in order to secure a move to AC Milan.

| Oleksandr Zinchenko’s Arsenal record last season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Zinchenko | 23 | 1 | 1 |
Zinchenko made just 15 appearances in the league last season and has fallen down the pecking order behind the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori.
Arsenal could use Zinchenko in a swap deal with the Gunners interested in Milan’s winger Rafael Leao, however, it is likely that the Italians would still ask for a substantial fee on top.
How Arsenal should replace Oleksandr Zinchenko
Despite not featuring regularly last season, Zinchenko’s versatility and experience would leave a hole in Arteta’s squad.
With the club looking to fight on all four trophy fronts next campaign, it is vital that they replace the Ukraine star and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato would be the ideal candidate.
Arsenal are interested in Hato and the young Dutch talent has the potential to be an excellent addition to the Gunners squad.
He can play at left back or at centre back, providing further defensive options and would allow Lewis-Skelly to be used as midfield cover.
Fluidity and strength in depth is something that Arteta will need next season with another hectic schedule on the horizon.
