What Real Madrid now privately think about Martin Zubimendi as Arsenal put £50m ‘on the table’

Martin Zubimendi is one of Arsenal’s top targets in this summer’s transfer window.

The North Londoners could lose both Thomas Partey and Jorginho in July after their contracts expire. That leaves a big hole in the middle of the park, one that needs to be filled.

Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with Arsenal, and the Newcastle United star would be a great signing thanks to his experience in the Premier League.

But, the player Mikel Arteta wants is Zubimendi, and Arsenal are pushing to get a deal done for the Real Sociedad midfield star.

But, there could soon be a Real-Madrid-sized problem.

What Real Madrid are thinking of Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi

Zubimendi has been a target for some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Arsenal have wanted him for a long time now, while clubs like Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been interested in him too.

Real Madrid also like Zubimendi, and the Galacticos could rival Arsenal for his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.

That’s according to AS, who claim that Carlo Ancelotti’s side believe that Zubimendi is a Real Madrid quality player and are interested in signing him.

But, the Galacticos aren’t too keen to pay what Arsenal have already put ‘on the table’ – £50 million.

That gives Arsenal a slight edge, but Real Madrid are set to try their luck – not just because he is a great player but also because they are looking for more Spanish nationals in their side.

If that happens, the report says that Real Madrid’s staff will be ‘rejuvenated’.

The one reason why Zubimendi should pick Arsenal over Real Madrid

Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world, and very few players reject them.

If Zubimendi picks them over Arsenal this summer, you can’t really blame him – almost every other footballer on the planet would be tempted to do the same.

However, the Spaniard has to understand that his chances of regular game time are far greater under Arteta than they will be at the Bernabeu.

That’s because Real Madrid already have Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham in their midfield.

Arsenal, on the other hand, could be left with just Declan Rice in the deeper role as Partey and Jorginho could be leaving soon.

That’s why Zubimendi should pick the Gunners this summer – he will be a guaranteed starter at the Emirates.
