Arsenal are interested in signing Matheus Cunha.
The Gunners need reinforcements in their attack. They were already short of options, but Mikel Arteta is now without Bukayo Saka, who has been ruled out for over two months.
Raheem Sterling is currently out injured too, and that has left Arsenal in a difficult position up top in a period where they will play a lot of games.
Fans are hoping that Arteta will dive into the market, and Cunha has been linked with a move to Arsenal. But, Wolves will not make it easy.
The latest on Matheus Cunha as Arsenal eye move for Wolves star
Arsenal would love to sign Cunha in the winter window.
The Brazilian is Wolves’ best player. He has been incredible for them this season and has been attracting interest from several top clubs.
Arsenal could really do with a player like Cunha, who would offer options to Arteta in every single attacking position.
The Daily Mail now claim that Arsenal’s interest in Cunha is ‘genuine’, but Wolves have started working on a new deal to extend his stay at the club.
The Wanderers are determined to keep their number 10, and tying him down to a new deal would all but rule out a move to the Emirates in this window.
However, sources close to the deal have told the outlet a move for Cunha to Arsenal ‘cannot be ruled out’ at this stage. It could yet happen, but as things stand, it’s unlikely.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will table an official bid to sign Cunha in the coming days.

How Matheus Cunha’s stats compare to other Arsenal attackers
Cunha would be a very smart signing for Arsenal.
The 25-year-old can play anywhere across the front three and also as a number 10. We even think he can do a job as a left-sided number eight under Arteta.
Cunha’s goal contributions tally in the Premier League this season is not bad at all – it even puts some of Arsenal’s attackers to shame.
| Player | Games played in the Premier League | Goals | Assists |
| Matheus Cunha | 19 | 10 | 4 |
| Kai Havertz | 17 | 7 | 2 |
| Bukayo Saka | 16 | 5 | 10 |
| Gabriel Martinelli | 17 | 5 | 2 |
| Gabriel Jesus | 16 | 3 | 0 |
| Leandro Trossard | 19 | 3 | 2 |
| Martin Odegaard | 12 | 1 | 2 |
The table above shows that Cunha has outscored every single Arsenal attacker this season and only Saka has managed to pick up more assists than him.
That tells you why Arsenal are keen to sign him in this window, but it will not be easy.
Wolves, who are in a relegation battle, will do everything they can to keep hold of Cunha. The only way Arsenal can land him is if they pay over the odds.
