Arsenal are keeping an eye on several players in this transfer window.
The Gunners could do with reinforcements in their attack. A versatile player who can play on either wing and through the middle would be the ideal option for Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign a number of players in recent weeks, and a new name has now come out of the rumour mill.
CaughtOffside claim that Arsenal are monitoring the situation of Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Asensio.
What Zinedine Zidane thinks about Arsenal-linked Marco Asensio
PSG offered Asensio to Arsenal on transfer deadline day last summer.
The Spaniard is nowhere near the top of Luis Enrique’s pecking order in the French capital. The Ligue 1 giants have been open to letting him go for a while now.
Arsenal rejected Asensio on deadline day and chose Raheem Sterling instead. Now, the report from CaughtOffside claims that the Gunners are monitoring his situation.
The 28-year-old was once one of the most impressive players in Europe. He was a star at Real Madrid when Zinedine Zidane was at the helm there.
The legendary Frenchman was such a big fan that he apparently told Asensio that his left foot was the best he had seen since Lionel Messi.
Speaking about that conversation, Asensio said in 2017, as per Eurosport: “Zidane told me that since Messi, he had never seen a left foot like mine.
“I was a little impressed, because Messi is a piece of a footballer.”

Should Arsenal sign Asensio?
On his day, Asensio can win games on his own – he is a fantastic talent.
However, things have not quite gone to plan for the Spain international in recent years, and he is no longer wanted at PSG.
Asensio can play on either wing, as an attacking midfielder and even up top if required. That is exactly what Arsenal are looking for right now.
However, we think the Gunners should be eyeing a move for someone whose record is better than seven goals in the last two years.
We think Arsenal should go all out for Matheus Cunha instead.
