The young players at Arsenal have made the headlines following the 5-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup.

Mikel Arteta bravely named four teenagers in his starting lineup and then brought on a couple more in the second half of the game.

All six players who were given an opportunity impressed, and this once again proves that Arsenal’s future is really, really bright.

There is one more young player at Arsenal who could be the next big thing in English football. David Ornstein has raved about him.

David Ornstein delivers verdict on Arsenal teenager Max Dowman

Arsenal’s academy is one of the best in England and perhaps even in Europe.

Hale End has produced a few truly remarkable talents over the last few years, and many of them are playing at the highest level in the Premier League.

Bukayo Saka is arguably the biggest success story, but the emergence of the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly among others show that Arsenal’s future is exciting.

Gooners saw six teenagers get an opportunity against Bolton, while a few more were on the bench. Some of them have become household names now.

However, there is another player in Arsenal’s academy who is making a lot of noise and is all set to become the next superstar teenager at the club – Max Dowman.

The young attacking midfielder, who is still only 14, is one of the finest talents in the country, and everyone who has seen him play feels he has a huge future.

Ornstein, who has covered Arsenal for a long time and has seen several young players make it, seems very excited about the youngster.

He said on Sky Sports’ Back Pages podcast: “There are some of the younger age groups at Arsenal who are really exciting, such as the U16s, from what I hear.

“In this one (against Bolton), it really did seem to be Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly. But tonight, and on the bench in Europe against Atalanta and even at City, we’ve started to see a few more emerging.

“There is an absolutely outstanding talent coming through at Arsenal, one of the best in the country in Max Dowman. And so we’ll be seeing a bit more of him in recent years.”

Max Dowman broke an all-time Arsenal record recently

Dowman is one of the most exciting young players in England right now.

The teenager, even though he’s just 14 years old, has played in the higher age groups such as the U16s, U18s and even the U21s recently.

When Arsenal faced Atalanta in the Champions League, the club’s U21s hosted the Italian side’s youth team in the UEFA Youth League.

Dowman started the game and became the youngest starter in Arsenal U21s history in the competition, at 14 years, eight months and 19 days.

There’s still a long way to go for Dowman, but we’re very excited to see how he will develop in the coming years.
