Arsenal went through a major revamp of their goalkeeping department across all levels in the 2024 summer transfer window, and several top prospects arrived.

First-team goalkeepers Aaron Ramsdale and Karl Hein departed, as did academy star Arthur Okonkwo, and several replacements were sought out.

England youth international Tommy Setford joined from Ajax, and 16-year-old Jack Porter made a shock first-team debut in the Carabao Cup.

In addition to them, Danish wonderkid Lucas Nygaard arrived after leaving FC Nordsjaelland, and Nygaard put himself on the map with a sensational performance for the under-21s against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Youth League, but just who is the young goalkeeper?

Lucas Nygaard’s Arsenal story so far

Nygaard missed the chance to make his Arsenal debut as he picked up an injury, before 16-year-old Porter came in for a Carabao Cup victory over Bolton.

However, he delivered a sensational performance in the UEFA Youth League against PSG, after which he earned rave reviews, and has featured for the under-21s on several occasions.

The goalkeeper could find himself on the Arsenal bench for Champions League fixtures, as two goalkeepers are required to be named, and he is a player to keep an eye on for the long-term future.
