Arsenal fans are really excited for the return of the Premier League with Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White and Thomas Partey all set to be available for our game against Norwich City this weekend.

We’ve all seen Partey play and we know just how good he is. Injuries have been awful to him since he joined us, but if he can stay fit for the remainder of the season, our chances of success will increase considerably.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

The most exciting thing for Arsenal fans ahead of this weekend is the prospect of seeing Gabriel and White start together at the back. They are yet to play alongside each other in a competitive game, but most supporters will agree that they’re our best pairing in central defence.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White train together

Arsenal have spent a combined £77 million on White (£50m) and Gabriel (£27m). The former is our most expensive defender in history, and it will be very interesting to see how the two of them fare together.

Gabriel, as we’ve seen over the last 12 months, is very aggressive. He closes his man down quickly, almost always gets the ball, is good in the air and is fantastic in possession as well. He is undoubtedly our best defender, but he’ll only get better with White next to him.

The Englishman is arguably better on the ball than Gabriel. He showed at Brighton last season that he’s among the best defenders in the league in possession and that is the biggest reason why Arsenal spent a fortune on him.

On paper, Gabriel and White make an incredible partnership. There’s no reason why they can’t make Arsenal’s defence one of the best in the country, but we’ll have to wait at least till Saturday to watch them in action together.
