After a season of disappointment in the Premier League and in Europe, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar are gearing up for what is shaping up to be a very busy summer transfer window.

The Gunners need plenty of help across the pitch. Dropping out of Europe has left us in a difficult financial position, but the Kroenkes simply have to back Arteta this summer, and we are hoping they will.

Arsenal have been linked with moves for multiple players already. Edu will have to work extremely hard to bring in every one of Arteta’s top targets this summer. If he can, we’ll be a real force next season.

Arteta’s five dream summer targets

Andre Onana:

Goal revealed last month that Arsenal are really keen to sign Onana this summer. The Cameroonian is currently battling the suspension he was handed earlier this year, and his future will completely depend on the outcome of that.

If the Ajax star’s ban is lifted, it is widely reported that Arsenal will make a move for him. He’ll be available for less than £7million, which is an absolute bargain for someone of his quality in today’s market.

Edmond Tapsoba:

Potentially Arsenal’s most expensive summer target, Tapsoba is reportedly high on Arteta’s wish list. Kicker revealed last month that the 6ft 4in giant from Bayer Leverkusen could cost as much as £70million this summer.

A swap deal with William Saliba has also been reported as a possibility, which will bring the price down. This move is still extremely unlikely, but if Edu can work his magic and deliver what Arteta reportedly wants, Tapsoba would be a stunning signing.

Emerson Royal:

Hector Bellerin is on the verge of leaving Arsenal and although the Gunners have Cedric Soares and Calum Chambers available, a new right-back is seen as a priority this summer. Barcelona’s Emerson is reportedly high on Arteta’s wanted list. (Read here)

The Brazilian would be an excellent signing for Arsenal. He is solid defensively and although he doesn’t quite possess the attacking flair that someone like Kieran Tierney does, his addition will surely improve the balance of our side.

Yves Bissouma:

The Brighton man is almost every Arsenal fan’s dream target this summer. The Gunners have been linked with a move for him for well over six months now, and if things play out our way, this deal can finally materialise.

Bissouma is arguably everything Arsenal need at the moment. His addition will make our midfield incredibly solid, and his amazing defensive qualities could also help Thomas Partey thrive in his preferred number eight role. If Edu can get Bissouma in, it could end up being the signing of the season.

Martin Odegaard:

The Athletic revealed not too long ago that Odegaard is Arteta’s number one target this summer. The Arsenal boss is convinced that the Norwegian is the right man to solve our creative woes, and we can’t really disagree.

In his few months at the Emirates, Odegaard became a fan favourite. His lack of goal contributions in the end made some people question his quality, but nobody can deny the fact that he is a sensational number 10, and that he would be an excellent fit at the Emirates next season.
