Arsenal are busy at work at London Colney ahead of our big game against Southampton this weekend and young Mika Biereth has been given a chance to impress.

After back to back defeats in the Premier League against Crystal Palace and Brighton, the Gunners simply have to get back to winning ways to keep our top four hopes alive.

The game on Saturday is a must-win and Mikel Arteta just has to find a way to get the job done.

Mika Biereth called up to Arsenal training ahead of Saints clash

A number of youngsters from the academy are called up to Arsenal’s first-team training every week. The likes of Omari Hutchinson, Miguel Azeez and Charlie Patino have been regulars recently, and Biereth too has been called up now, according to Jeorge Bird.

This isn’t the first time that the 19-year-old forward has been given a chance to rub shoulders with the experienced players. He is learning and improving every day and he is one we should definitely keep an eye on.

Branded as ‘unbelievable’ by Yousuf Sajjad, Biereth has scored 11 goals and has provided five assists for the academy this term. That is a fantastic return and that’s probably why Arteta has decided to take a closer look at him at London Colney this week.

Big game on Saturday

Calling the game on Saturday a must-win would be an understatement.

If we slip up for the third time in two weeks, our top-four hopes will be all but over and we’ll be left kicking ourselves as it was completely in our hands just 10 days ago.

What makes it worse is that it looks like it will be Tottenham who will end up fourth if we miss out. That would be painful to see, but we can’t look too far ahead just yet.

Arsenal have to step up against the Saints this weekend and if we play at our best, we should be able to come away with a fairly comfortable win on Saturday.
