Martin Zubimendi once again proved his worth for Arsenal, despite their late 2-2 draw away at Sunderland in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s team had two points cruelly snatched away from them at the death as Brian Brobbey scored in the 94th minute.

Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard had managed to flip the game on its head following Dan Ballard’s impressive goal in the first 45 minutes.

But it was the performance of Zubimendi which has Arsenal fans talking, with one key detail really impressing them on Wearside.

Arsenal fans were so impressed by Martin Zubimendi’s intelligence against Sunderland, as he helped the Gunners come from behind.

Zubimendi has been so good for Arsenal since arriving in North London, and against the Black Cats, he produced another top display.

The 26-year-old did look a bit off the pace in the first half, but in the second 45 minutes, the midfielder came flying out of the traps and kept the team just ticking over.

Zubimendi returned from injury away at the Stadium of Light, but his impressive passing and smart play made him really stand out during the game.

The former Real Sociedad player even managed to claim an assist during the match through Leandro Trossard’s wicked strike in the second half.

During the match, the Gunners’ supporters took to X to share their appreciation for the Spaniard’s impressive display away at Sunderland.

One fan said: “Zubimendi has got a proper brain, that guy.”

“Zubimendi is a unicorn. He’s been both our most defensive and creative midfielder. His vision is very smart and quick,” added another.

Zubimendi’s stats away at the Stadium of Light were so impressive, as he had the most touches and the second-highest number of accurate passes.

The midfielder had 91 touches and made 68 accurate passes in the 2-2 draw, whilst also having three efforts at goal.

He also showed the other side of his game by winning the fourth most duels in the game, with 10 out of 13.

Zubimendi has made a brilliant start to life in the Premier League, and it certainly showed against Sunderland.
