Arsenal face Newcastle United in a crucial clash at the top of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side will be keen to capitalise on title rivals Liverpool’s defeat at Crystal Palace and the Gunners boss named Eberechi Eze in the starting line-up.
Cristhian Mosquera also regained his place in the side in place of William Saliba with the French defender still nursing an ankle knock sustained at Anfield earlier in the campaign.
Arsenal had a penalty overturned before Nick Woltemade gave the home side a 1-0 half time lead with a thumping header. Supporters are all in agreement over one thing though involving defender Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal fans in awe of Jurrien Timber’s performance v Newcastle United
Up against Anthony Gordon, Timber would have been forgiven for taking a backward step given the pace and trickery of the England international.
However, from the very first minute the Dutch defender was on the front foot and gave Newcastle nothing down their left flank. It didn’t go unnoticed by the fanbase.
One Arsenal fan on X wrote: “Jurrien Timber, what a player, those tight-space tackles alone are worth the world.”
Another Arsenal supporter wrote: “Said it countless times before… Jurrien Timber is such an underrated monster.”
One Gunners fan has been impressed with Timber for a long while and gave his verdict on his standing in world football, they wrote: “I’ve seen enough, Jurrien Timber is the best right back in world football.”
Ben White will struggle to get back into Arsenal’s first team
Arsenal want to extend Timber’s contract and no wonder given the consistency he has shown since joining the club in 2023.
Ben White was in possession of the right back slot and performing admirably well, however Timber has taken the role onto a different level.

His ability to defend one v one is second to none and his reading of the game gives Arsenal an assurance and solidity at the back.
White’s partnership with Bukayo Saka may give the Gunners an extra edge going forward but Timber has well and truly cemented himself as the first choice right back for now.
