Arsenal suffered yet another Anfield heartbreak as they went down to a late Dominik Szoboszlai free kick.

Mikel Arteta suffered an early setback with William Saliba as the French defender went down injured in the first five minutes.

The Gunners controlled the majority of the first half without really creating any clear openings before Liverpool came on stronger in the second period.

Liverpool’s Szoboszlai produced the defining moment of quality with just eight minutes remaining and Arsenal couldn’t find a reply. The supporters have singled out Cristhian Mosquera’s performance for Arteta’s side.

It is believed that Saliba picked up an ankle injury in the warm up and was unable to play through the pain, however, Mosquera has taken his opportunity.

The young defender will now be hoping that he can impress with a run of games in the side and show that the Gunners do have the depth to cope with injury problems this campaign.
