Arteta cannot afford for his goalkeeper to keep looking so nervy, and it’s something they must sort ahead of the weekend.

Cristhian Mosquera started at right-back and looked rather uncomfortable at times for the Gunners.
The young Spaniard won just two of his six duels and was dribbled past once.
Gabriel Magalhaes – 6
Gabriel Magalhaes was very solid at the back for Arsenal and helped the Gunners to keep a clean sheet.
William Saliba – 4
William Saliba was not at his brilliant best during this match and struggled at times against Sporting.

Piero Hincapie had a very solid performance against Sporting and made the Gunners look defensively secure down his side.

Declan Rice missed Arsenal training on Tuesday, and his performance looked slightly rusty compared to usual.

Eberechi Eze showed signs of getting back to his best with some bright moments; however, his attacking teammates seemed to let him down.
Gabriel Martinelli – 2
Gabriel Martinelli has been so far off the pace over recent weeks, and Arteta cannot keep starting him in these big matches.
The Brazilian failed to complete a single dribble against Sporting and did not cause any sort of threat.
Noni Madueke – 2
Noni Madueke struggled again for Arsenal, struggling to create many chances and was forced off with a knee injury just before the hour mark.
Viktor Gyokeres – 2
Viktor Gyokeres had a terrible evening at the Emirates and struggled to make any sort of impact against his former club.
The striker managed just 14 touches and failed to register a single effort at goal before being hauled off before the hour mark.
