Pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have shared their thoughts about Arsenal’s upcoming trip to Anfield.

The Gunners have a dire record in the Premier League when playing away to Liverpool; however, Mikel Arteta is unbeaten in his last three trips.

Both the Arsenal manager and Arne Slot will be plotting how to get the better of each other, with both teams starting the season unbeaten.

That being said, the North Londoners have certainly had a better start in terms of defensive performance, with Liverpool’s defensive struggles noticed early into the campaign.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher predict Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arsenal will be desperate to test Liverpool’s shaky back line, and, undoubtedly, the Reds will want to attempt to unsettle their visitors’ defence.

As it always is between Arsenal and Liverpool, it’s a very difficult game to call, with score predictions already flooding out.

Theo Walcott thinks Arsenal will draw with Liverpool at Anfield, but fellow pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have other ideas.

Discussing their score predictions on the Stick To Football podcast, the Sky Sports duo disagreed on their predicted outcomes of the match.

“I fancy Arsenal to win,” Neville said, which Carragher unsurprisingly disagreed with.

“Liverpool have got to win with the injuries you’ve got. Saka is your best player, he’s out, isn’t he?” Carragher replied before predicting Liverpool to win 2-1.

“I think Arsenal will score, I’m going to go Liverpool 2-1.”

The Liverpool icon then diverted attention to Arsenal’s poor opening-day performance against Manchester United, noting the absences of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard

“Think about how bad Arsenal were against Man United. If Arsenal are like they were at Man United, Liverpool win the game. No Saka, No Odegaard.”

Saka will certainly miss the trip to Anfield after being ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury, while Odegaard’s involvement is yet to be understood.

Prime time for Arsenal to show off their squad depth

This summer, Arteta and Andrea Berta have worked tirelessly to improve the depth of Arsenal’s squad, something they have achieved.

Saka will not travel to Anfield, but Noni Madueke could certainly cause Liverpool problems, given Milos Kerkez’s poor start to the season.

Centrally, if Odegaard is out, the arrival of Eberechi Eze has come at the perfect time, particularly as the 27-year-old is already making a statement at Colney.

Eze is turning heads in training, putting in the work and staying after hours to get better and better, with the attacking midfielder raring to pull on the shirt of his boyhood club.

Granted, Arsenal would rather have Odegaard and Saka fit, but their absences might not be as much of a problem as Carragher expects.
