Arsenal fans were treated to another blockbuster at the Emirates as the Gunners beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in the Champions League.
Vincent Kompany was blown away by Arsenal, who handed Bayern their first defeat of the season in style.
Goals from Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Martinelli and a first from Noni Madueke decided the direction of the three points to send Arsenal top of the Champions League table.
It was Declan Rice who collected Man of the Match; however, it was something away from the pitch that turned Arsenal’s fortune around.

Bayern Munich defender Jonathan Tah credits Arsenal fans for the atmosphere at the Emirates
Bayern found a solution for when Arsenal went 1-0 ahead in the first half, as Lennart Karl levelled the scoring ten minutes after Timber’s opener.
On what was a tough night for Myles Lewis-Skelly, the teenager was beaten by former Gunner Serge Gnabry, who put the ball on a plate for Karl.
What was significant about that moment was that the roar from Arsenal fans in the Emirates all but drowned out the celebrations from Bayern fans.
The atmosphere inside the Emirates was incredible from that moment onwards, so much so that Bayern’s Jonathan Tah commented on Arsenal’s support after the match.
“It wasn’t just the goals, though, in other moments they were maybe a bit sharper,” Tah told the media post-match.
“The crowd also got behind them in those periods, and that’s how the game turned in the other direction.”
After the sensational tifo set the tone for the North London Derby atmosphere, fans in N5 have been booming ever since, bringing the noise back when Bayern visited.

Arsenal’s form at the Emirates this season has been incredible
One of the most important influences Mikel Arteta has had at Arsenal is improving the atmosphere inside the Emirates.
Now, the Emirates has become a fortress, with the Gunners’ form in front of a home crowd certainly a daunting prospect for the opposition.
| Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goals conceded |
| 10 | 9 | 1 | 0 | 3 |
This season, Arsenal have played ten games at home, winning nine and conceding just three goals in the process.
The only draw came against Manchester City back in September, representing the only occasion that Arteta’s side have dropped points at home all season.
Arsenal’s home form is something every opposition must fear right now, with the Gunners the team to beat in Europe.
