Leandro Trossard scored the match-winner in the North London Derby as Arsenal beat Tottenham at the Emirates.

Arsenal needed to bounce back in style, and Mikel Arteta’s side did just that, achieving the double over Spurs in the 2024/25 campaign.

It was a drama-filled North London Derby, as the hosts had to come from behind after Son Heung-min’s opener against the run of play.

Spurs fans were furious with Arsenal’s equalising goal, as Dominic Solanke netted an own goal from a corner that was controversially awarded.

Four minutes after the equaliser, Leandro Trossard scored the eventual match-winner, bursting towards Antonin Kinsky before firing past the goalkeeper.

After three games without a win, the victory in the derby was even sweeter for Arteta, who celebrated joyously after the game.

Trossard’s goal vs Tottenham was needed

Arsenal fans have not been pleased with Trossard recently, as the forward’s clinical streak seemed to have dissolved.

Against Spurs, the Belgian did have a few wobbles in the final third however, his goal ousted any doubt over his finishing ability.

It’s been a week of ups and downs for the player, as it was earlier reported that Trossard rejected a new contract, with his future uncertain.

For now, the former Brighton star has certainly got supporters back on side by winning the North London Derby, with the hope that it kickstarts his scoring form.
