Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus didn’t exactly have a game to remember as the Gunners crash out of the FA Cup.
Arsenal were dealt another injury blow when Gabriel Jesus was forced off injured in their FA Cup penalty shootout defeat against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Jesus was involved in a clumsy clash with United’s Bruno Fernandes on the edge of the Gunners’ box in the 38th minute, which he couldn’t recover from.
Jesus’ injury highlighted exactly what expert pundit Micah Richards had pointed out as his biggest weakness prior to kickoff.

Micah Richards urges Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus to be more ‘selfish’
Jesus’ high work rate and desire to drop deep to help his team is something to commend, however, too much of it is nullifying his goal-scoring prowess.
Speaking to BBC One prior to kick-off at the Emirates Stadium, Micah Richards accused the Arsenal attacker of dropping ‘too deep’.
Richards said: “Gabriel Jesus does so much work for the team, but the one part of the game he needs to improve in his game is that he comes too deep.
“It leaves no space for him to then run, there’s all this space in behind that he can’t make up.
“He is such a good player, he is a utility player but for himself, he needs to be more selfish.”
Jesus was goalless once again – and spent far too much time defending instead of doing work further up the pitch. Richards – proven right.

Mikel Arteta’s injury crisis deepens with Jesus’ injury
While the extent of Jesus’ injury remains unconfirmed for now, Mikel Arteta will be praying for a swift recovery.
The Gunners are already without without Bukayo Saka who’s set to remain sidelined with injury until March 2025.
Furthermore Ethan Nwaneri is out injured while Riccardo Calafiori also missed out for Arsenal on Sunday due to a minor injur. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu also remain sidelined through injury.
Given the current situation at the Gunners, Arteta may be forced to tap into the January transfer market to rope in some much needed reinforcements.
