Ethan Nwaneri was the star of the show as Arsenal dispatched Preston North End on Wednesday evening.
Arsenal were utterly dominant as they beat Preston North End 3-0 in this EFL Cup clash.
Gabriel Jesus scored for the first time since January to put Mikel Arteta’s side ahead, but Ethan Nwaneri’s stunning strike from range will live far longer in the memory.
The 17-year-old was making just his second start for the Gunners, and was able to take his tally of goals for the club to three, having bagged a brace against Bolton Wanderers last time out in this competition.
Nwaneri has now made Arsenal history, as with his goal at Deepdale Stadium he became the youngest player to find the back of the net in both of his first two starts for the club.
Arsenal fans were dazzled by Nwaneri’s display against the Championship outfit and will now be eager to see him granted more Premier League opportunities.

Mikel Arteta shares training revelation about Ethan Nwaneri
Arteta is certainly aware that he has a hugely exciting prospect on his hands.
Speaking in his press conference in the wake of this win over Preston North End, as quoted by Football.London, the Spanish coach revealed that Nwaneri pulled off a spectacular strike in training on Tuesday, similar to the effort he executed at Deepdale.
He said: “He did it yesterday in training so we’re getting used to that. He’s a big talent, he’s got the right attitude, he’s got the right players and context around him and we need to make sure that we put brick by brick. But we have some player there!”
Arsenal cannot ignore Ethan Nwaneri
Nwaneri is now making it increasingly difficult for Arteta to justify denying him a Premier League start, and the fact that he is also impressing behind the scenes in training only serves to underline this point.
The teenage sensation is pushing hard to rise up in the pecking order, and on his current form few would bet against him establishing himself as a regular starter for the club before the end of the season.
