With another tight turnaround, Arsenal are preparing to face Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

Exactly 72 hours after the Gunners kicked off against Everton on Merseyside, Arsenal will return to action.

The Emirates hosts the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup as Crystal Palace pay their second visit to N5 this season.

Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 1-0 in the Premier League on matchday nine, as Eberechi Eze haunted his former club by netting the match-winner.

Though Oliver Glasner is aware of Eze’s threat, it’s another Arsenal player he’ll be even more wary of.

Mikel Arteta confirms Gabriel Jesus is ready to start against Crystal Palace

By Eze and Noni Madueke not featuring against Everton, it’s fair to assume that the pair could be in contention to start against Palace.

While such is merely speculation, Mikel Arteta has confirmed that one of his forwards is indeed ready to start.

Addressing the media in a press conference, the Arsenal manager spoke about Gabriel Jesus’ status ahead of the match.

“Yes, he is [ready to start], and you can tell that you can see now. Not only in games, every day in training, how much he wants it, so he’s going to deserve a chance.”

The boss went on to share huge praise for the striker, who is in line to make his first start for Arsenal in 343 days.

“I think that’s probably the biggest quality of Gabi, bringing people together, connecting with people, generating a lot of uncertainty in the opponent when you see him today [vs Everton], the amount of spaces that he was involved in. That’s his biggest quality, so we need to exploit that.”

Arteta will be desperate to see Jesus in full flow, with his return to the starting XI coming at a rather fitting time with Palace visiting.

Crystal Palace will be wary of Gabriel Jesus’ return

If there’s one player Crystal Palace fear more than most, it’s Jesus.

Which Gabriel Jesus goal impressed you most on this night? ✨

In last season’s Carabao Cup clash between the two clubs, the Brazilian single-handedly won the game for the Gunners, scoring a hat-trick.

Three days later, Arsenal faced Crystal Palace again, and didn’t the Eagles know about it?

Jesus scored another two goals at Selhurst Park in Arsenal’s 5-1 win, in a week that let Glasner’s side know just how dangerous the striker can be.

Will it be another goal-feast for Jesus on Tuesday night? Arsenal will certainly hope so.
