Ivan Toney would welcome a move from Arsenal more than Chelsea this month, but there’s a chance he could end up staying at Brentford.
We’re 10 days into the January transfer window, and Arsenal haven’t lifted a finger yet. Gooners are desperate for a new addition, especially up front. Toney has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates.

Ivan Toney would welcome a move from Arsenal more than Chelsea
If Brentford star Ivan Toney wasn’t banned from football, he would’ve been a wanted man in last summer’s transfer window.
The £100 million-rated Englishman still has numerous suitors even though he hasn’t played any competitive football for over six months – Arsenal and Chelsea are two of them.
Mikel Arteta‘s side are really struggling to score goals. We’ve won just once in our last seven games, and we just can’t keep going like this.
Arsenal fans are demanding a new striker this month, and journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Toney would welcome a move from the Gunners more than Chelsea. However, there’s also a chance he stays at Brentford till his contract expires in 2025.
He said on The Football Terrace: “I would also say that free agency in 2025 isn’t out of the question, when Toney says loyalty I don’t think he means just until the end of the season, I think there’s a fair chance he stays at Brentford for even longer.
“My understanding remains that yes, Toney would welcome a move from Arsenal, more so than Chelsea, and for Chelsea, he’s not necessarily top of the list, but we may have to wait longer to resolve the Toney situation than the next couple of weeks.”

Arsenal are unlikely to sign a new striker this month
If you went up to Mikel Arteta and told him he could have any striker he wants, we’re sure the Arsenal boss would go after someone in this window.
However, the reality is that a move for any top centre-forward is extremely unlikely in the next three weeks.
Arsenal spent a fortune in the summer, so much so that we had to loan in David Raya instead of buying him permanently, just to stay on the right side of FFP rules.
That still remains an issue, and we just can’t see Arsenal spending big on a forward, or anyone else for that matter, in this window unless we make a big sale. That looks unlikely as well, as things stand.
