Arsenal bid farewell to a few players during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners continue to be very poor sellers, but at least they managed to get some of their old stars off the wage bill.
A few players who left Arsenal are performing well at their new clubs, but that isn’t the case for everyone.
One former Gunners star has received some serious criticism now.
Kieran Tierney gets blasted after tough start at Celtic since leaving Arsenal
Arsenal signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic for £25 million in the summer of 2019.
The Scot became a fan favourite at the Emirates right after his debut, and he was adored by everyone throughout his time at the club.
However, injuries derailed his Arsenal career, and he was allowed to leave on a free transfer at the end of his contract in the summer.
Tierney completed an emotional return to Celtic, and all the Hoops fans were delighted to see him back in the green and white.
However, fitness issues have meant that he has been able to complete 90 minutes just once. To make things worse, he made a few mistakes against Red Star in the Europa League as well.
The Daily Mail have had a real go at Tierney now. They wrote: “We are now nearly two months into the new season, and he continues to look a shadow of his former self. Even accounting for some chronic injury problems, how long does a player need to get up to full speed?”
Speaking about his wages, the outlet added: “Tierney took a hefty wage cut when he left Arsenal, where his wages were in excess of £100,000 per week. He effectively agreed to a 50-per-cent cut in order to return to his boyhood club.
“Even so, the fact remains he’s still Celtic’s top earner. It’s an awkward truth that is now becoming unavoidable; Tierney is not offering Celtic value for money.
“When you strip it back, Celtic have signed an injury-prone left-back with no resale value at 28 years old. They are paying him close to £50k per week and have given him a five-year deal.
“If it wasn’t for the fact his name was Kieran Tierney, how on earth would a deal like that make any kind of sense?”

Injuries stopped Kieran Tierney from becoming an Arsenal legend
Tierney, on his day, is an unbelievable left-back.
The Scotland international is fantastic going forward, is brilliant at crossing and produced several incredible performances in the famous red and white. He is very solid defensively as well.
There was a time when everyone was tipping Tierney to become the Arsenal captain, and he would’ve deserved that recognition had he been able to stay fit.
Sadly, injuries ruined Tierney’s career at the Emirates and also his chance of becoming an Arsenal legend.
