Arsenal wasted little time in snapping up Edwin and Holger Quintero, and the club’s speed in getting the deal done has been praised.
Andrea Berta pushed to sign the Quintero twins, and the Italian director managed to secure deals to bring both players to North London in 2027.
There is a great amount of excitement surrounding these deals, with the Quintero twins having both been compared to Ronaldinho.
The North London club have now secured the futures of two of South America’s biggest young talents before any other European club could make their move.

Arsenal’s deal to sign Edwin and Holger Quintero now makes ‘logical sense’
Kieran Maguire believes that Arsenal’s decision to move now to sign Edwin and Holger Quintero makes ‘logical sense’.
Rather than waiting three or four years to bring them to the Emirates Stadium, they have decided to avoid the risk of a Real Madrid swooping in or their price tag increasing.
The Gunners took a gamble by investing around £9 million, as reported by BBC Sport, demonstrating just how much they believe in the twins’ potential.
Maguire told Beyond the Back Four: “It’s an acknowledgement that in a post-Brexit world, you can’t recruit players until players are 18, so you have to get in early when you see talent.
They’ve been compared to Neymar and Ronaldinho, but which players do the Quintero twins remind you of?
“Otherwise, these talents could end up at Real Madrid or Barcelona, and then if you do want those players in three or four years, there’s an extra zero added to the fee.
“So yes, I think it does make a lot of logical sense. We have seen several other clubs very successfully use the South American model to recruit talent for relatively low fees, so I can absolutely see why Arsenal are doing this.
“Also, if you look at what’s happening domestically, there’s a huge fight for academy talent.”
There is a huge upside to Arsenal signing the Quintero twins for £9 million now, as that figure has every chance of increasing exponentially over the coming years.
Piero Hincapie’s classy message to Quintero twins
Fellow Ecuadorian Piero Hincapie was one of the first people from Arsenal to greet the pair and was quick to offer them both support.
The 24-year-old was at the same club as the twins, Independiente del Valle, before he moved to Argentina and then Europe to join Bayer Leverkusen.
Could this be Arsenal’s starting XI in 10 years?
After meeting them for the first time, Hincapie told the twins: “May God bless you both and keep up the good work. It’s been a pleasure meeting you.
“Whatever you need, I am here to help and can do anything here to welcome you to the club.”
