Arsenal star Eberechi Eze scored a lovely goal to help England beat Serbia in their World Cup qualifiers.

The Three Lions are on track to qualify for the biggest tournament in football next summer. Thomas Tuchel has done a decent job since taking charge, and the Arsenal boys came to his rescue on Thursday.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring with a brilliant volley in the first half, and Eze then sealed the win with an incredible strike late in the game.

The former Crystal Palace star’s goal came from an xG of 0.03, which means that it was a ridiculously difficult chance to convert.

Eze made it look easy, and Arsenal fans were blown away. However, what annoyed many of them was the England team’s official tweet right after his goal.

Arsenal fans react angrily after England’s tweet about Eberechi Eze’s goal

England’s X account posted a tweet right after Eze’s goal, saying: “Phil Foden puts it on a plate for Eberechi Eze, who effortlessly guides it into the top corner.”

That has angered Arsenal supporters as Foden just made a straightforward pass to Eze. It was the latter who did all the work – it was definitely not laid on a plate for him.

Here’s how some fans reacted to the tweet…

One Arsenal fan wrote: “Puts it on a plate? I feel like I’m going insane!! Eze scored a worldie and all commentary is about the assist? What is happening?”

Another tweeted: “How on earth did Phil Foden put it on a plate for Eze? Did you watch your game?”

“Eze curls one into the corner from 18 yards and yet you’re hyping the two-metre pass from a wide open Foden into Eze’s feet,” said another.

Another annoyed Gooner reacted by saying: “Put that on a plate? Brother literally had to score a worldie, how is that on a plate?”

“Guys, on a plate? Are we serious? On a plate means no one to beat, on the goal line and the ball’s speed is so slow that even a three-year-old should be able to score. I think these guys just want to downplay the skill, effort and incision Eze put in.”

Eberechi Eze’s position at Arsenal could be about to change

Eze has been given opportunities as a number 10 over the last few weeks at Arsenal, and his performances have been mixed.

Now, with Martin Odegaard set to return from his injury, the Englishman could be moved to the left wing.

Arsenal fans loved what they saw from Eze on the left against Serbia, and many now feel it is his best position going forward.

It will be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta will handle this situation, as Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli will surely have something to say about the left-wing spot.
