Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and Ange Postecoglou is set to be in the dugout for the away team.

Nuno Espirito Santo has left the East Midlands club after falling out with former Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar.

Evangelos Marinakis has moved swiftly to appoint Postecoglou as Espirito Santo’s replacement, and the former Tottenham boss’ first match in charge will be at the Emirates.

The Gunners enjoyed three wins from four games against Postecologu’s Spurs and will be looking forward to facing the Australian again this weekend.

Arsenal fans react to Ange Postecoglou’s appointment at Forest

Spurs sacked Postecoglou despite the manager delivering European silverware to North London, after he’d led the Lilywhites to a 17th-place finish in the Premier League.

This form indicates that his naive style of football comes up stuck against smart teams in the English top flight, and Arsenal will be licking their lips ahead of Saturday’s encounter in N5.

Viktor Gyokeres will be excited to take on a team that’s defence sits on the halfway line, with the Swede exceptional at exploiting the space in behind this back four.

The striker isn’t the only one who cannot wait for the showdown at the Emirates, with fans taking to social media to express their elation at the news.

One fan wrote: “From Nuno to Ange, Arsenal will feast.”

Another added: “Ange at Forest. First game at the Emirates. 5-0 Arsenal then.”

One supporter posited, jubilantly: “HIGH LINE AGAINST US, YESSSSSSSSSSS.”

Meanwhile, another wrote: “Edu gets his way. Very strange happenings there. Feels good for our upcoming match, though.”

Arsenal can destroy Nottingham Forest if Ange Postecoglou plays his football

Postecoglou will have a matter of days training with his players before travelling to North London.

This may mean that he’s not able to implement his ideas in time for Forest to play in his identity, and the team may instead resemble how they played under Espirito Santo.

However, if he does loosely imprint his philosophy, it’ll certainly not be ingrained in his players long enough for them to be effective away at the Emirates.

If Postecoglou implores his squad to play a high line, then Arsenal could run riot against Forest.

The likes of Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke and Gyokeres will have acres of space to exploit, and that will suit them given their pace and direct running ability.

It could get messy for Postecoglou upon his return to the Premier League.
