Arsenal fans adore Thierry Henry.
Arsenal’s record goalscorer won an array of honours following his arrival from Juventus under Arsene Wenger.
Henry won two Premier League titles and three FA Cup trophies during his incredible spell in North London and formed a formidable reputation across world football.
Robert Pires was recently praised by Henry for his time at the Gunners after the winger endured a difficult start to life in English football and Henry has now himself opened up on a challenging moment at the start of his Arsenal adventure.

Thierry Henry reveals moment Arsenal ‘had a go’ at him
Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast, Henry recalled a moment where fans turned on the striker at the beginning of his Gunners career.
Henry stated: “I remember arriving in England and having that European, continental way of playing. You know, if you pull the shirt of someone, if you stop, usually the ref would blow the whistle.
“So I arrive, I shielded the ball when I think we were playing Leicester at home first game and someone went in front of me and got the ball and I thought he kicked me and pulled my shirt so in a nice way, I stopped. Counter. My fans started to have a go at me.”
Riccardo Calafiori called Henry ‘unstoppable’ during a recent interview and ranked the former striker as the best player in Premier League history.
It wasn’t all plain sailing for the French international however, he had to learn quickly to adapt to the rigours of the English game.
Thierry Henry reveals he needed ‘protection’ from Lee Dixon
Following that incident in his first home game, Henry claimed he then needed protection from teammate Lee Dixon in training the following week.
Henry explained: “Everyone started to have a go at me in the dressing room after the game. Lee Dixon came up to me and said ‘OI, you-” I won’t say the rest. ‘You need to-‘ I won’t say the rest. The whole week after in training, I needed protection.”

As per BBC Sport, Dixon soon changed his perception of Henry, describing his colleague as ‘unmarkable’ back in 2005.
Dixon stated: “He has become the complete centre forward – he is unmarkable. Thierry is so quick that a lot of his goals come when he runs from outside the box, sprints past everyone in sight and is left with only the keeper to beat.”
