Mikel Arteta gives Gabriel Magalhaes injury update

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes was an injury doubt heading into the clash with West Ham, but was able to make the starting lineup.

It came as a serious boost to the side, one that paid off when he scored and won a penalty for his side in the first half of the tie.

The centre-back was an injury doubt once again when he was substituted at half-time, coming as a worry for those of an Arsenal persuasion.

Speaking to the press after the match, Mikel Arteta said on the injury: “It was related to the previous injury he had in Lisbon. We decided to take him off.”

It remains to be seen if Gabriel will now be fit enough to face off against Manchester United in the midweek clash.

Arsenal eye Jamie Gittens transfer deal

As the January transfer window edges closer, Arsenal are looking at some potential deals they can conduct for the weeks ahead.

Promising youngsters are on their radar, with Sky Sports in Germany revealing that the Gunners are interested in Borussia Dortmund youngster Jamie Gittens.

The 20-year-old has impressed with the Bundesliga outfit and given his English citizenship, he would count as a home-grown talent for registration too.

Arsenal aren’t the only team showing their interest though, as Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are all claimed to be in the race as well, creating plenty of competition for his signature.

Arsenal want Liam Delap transfer move

Another player on the radar at Arsenal who is still at the very start of their career is Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.

The Gunners have been looking for a clinical centre-forward for a while, but haven’t quite been able to get a deal over the line.

In Delap, there could be a youngster who is able to grow into that role, with CaughtOffside claiming the forward is of interest.

There are also Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres on the list, creating a few options available to Arsenal in the market.
