Arsenal won’t leave London in October or February in potential fixture list boost
In football, it can often be the small margins that make the difference for teams.
It can be an extra yard run, the slightest deflection on a shot or mere millimetres that can determine the result of a match.
It’s the reason there is so much preparation that goes into a match, especially when it comes to travel.
For Arsenal, there is a slight advantage in there being so many teams from London, meaning less travel and more time to recover.
That has been particularly helpful for the latest set of fixtures, as it has been revealed that the Gunners won’t leave London for October or February in the league, both of which include a North London Derby.
That’s two whole months in which the North London outfit can make short-distance trips, allowing for more time to recover and prepare for the next match.
Given how brutal the fixture list can be, it’s the sort of secret advantage that they can take over some of their title rivals, such as Liverpool and Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta’s London Derby record for 2024/25
In his time as manager so far, Mikel Arteta has turned Arsenal into a force to be reckoned with, especially in the London derbies.
The Arsenal boss was imperious in the local games last season, winning seven, drawing four and losing just once in those matchups across all competitions.
The Gunners registered wins in the North London derby, as well as victories over close rivals Chelsea.
Frustrating draws with the likes of Crystal Palace and Fulham did occur during the campaign, however, along with a dismal defeat to West Ham.
| Matches | Wins | Draws | Defeats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 | 7 | 4 | 1 |
Arsenal will be looking to build on that even more next season, taking advantage of those short trips and beating their nearest and dearest rivals.
