Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is nearing the final two years of his contract at the club, creating uncertainty over his long-term future.
The Hale End academy graduate has been a key part of Mikel Arteta’s rise to the top with the Gunners, holding down the right flank as his own.
While the winger signed a new deal in 2022, it was an extension that left many Arsenal fans nervous about a possible exit a few years later.
Fast forward to 2025 and Bukayo Saka is entering the final two years of his Arsenal contract, creating possible tension over a stay.
That’s due to the fact that the final year will often come with a drop in value and a possible free transfer if not agreed earlier.
With Saka such a key part of the project, the Gunners are moving quickly to secure his future at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal set to open official Bukayo Saka contract talks
With Bukayo Saka’s contract starting to dwindle, Arsenal are already putting plans into place to keep him for the future.
According to BBC Sport, formal contract talks over a stay for the 23-year-old are being prepared with moves towards concrete discussions on the table.
Clubs across Europe are said to be keeping tabs on the situation, to see how it develops for the star forward.
It remains to be seen how those talks go, but it shows the unity in the forward-thinking nature of the Arsenal board.
That’s because these talks are already planned, despite the awaited arrival of Andrea Berta as the new sporting director.
The former Atletico Madrid man is yet to be officially appointed, but he will have a big say on the shape of the squad and transfer business going forward.
Berta will play a key role in keeping Saka at the club, while other stars will also be mulling over their own contract situations.

Arsenal contracts for Andrea Berta to look at upon appointment
While Saka will be a priority for a new contract, Arsenal will have several different players to look at over the coming weeks and months.
Andrea Berta will have to consider the future of Leandro Trossard, who has his deal expiring in 2026.
On top of that, the summer of 2027 has expiring deals for William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli to look at, on top of Saka.
While those players are all ahead in the next two years, 2028 has some big-hitters with Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz and David Raya all to consider.
It leaves some big plans ahead for the sporting director, who will have to shape the squad wisely.
