Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke has now set a target for the Gunners that will help them win the Premier League title.
Arsenal will have their eyes fixed on the Premier League title this season.
In each of the last two campaigns, Mikel Arteta’s side have finished as runners up behind Manchester City. However, last time around, the Gunners were able to take the title race down to the wire. Arsenal are getting closer.
Gabby Agbonlahor has Arsenal down as favourites to win the league this season. He is not the only one to believe in Arteta’s side either. ESPN pundits have also backed Arsenal to be crowned champions.
However, Manchester City are still very much the team to beat, and Arteta must expect his side to have to improve on their showing last time out if they are to beat Pep Guardiola’s men to the title on this occasion.
Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke certainly believes that the North London club need to raise their game again.

Arsenal set target to beat Manchester City in title race
The Gunners need to make progress in order to beat Manchester City over the course of the campaign. Clarke has now set a target for his former club to aim for in terms of points.
Speaking on The Athletic FC Podcast, he said: “It might not even be in Arsenal’s hands. If City play to their capabilities, they could get close to 100 points. There’s no shame in Arsenal not getting close to that. Year on year, the points have improved, 89 last year.
“They’ve got to get into the 90s. That’s mission number one, then it is a case of what can City do? Arsenal can’t control that. Get into the 90 points region, maybe closer towards the mid 90s, and they’ve got a fantastic opportunity.”
Of course, this target leaves very little margin for error over the course of the season. Therefore, it is vital that Arsenal hit the ground running when the new season gets underway.
Arsenal must not falter during tough start to Premier League season
Arteta’s team will be tested early this season, as Arsenal will get their campaign underway with a tough run of early fixtures.
After welcoming Wolves to the Emirates Stadium on the opening day, Arsenal will then have to travel to Aston Villa, before then taking on Brighton at home.
Arsenal’s fourth and fifth Premier League fixtures will then see them back on the road, against fierce local rivals Tottenham Hotspur and then Manchester City themselves.
