Mikel Arteta has taken no time at all to make Premier League history in the 2025/26 season.
On matchday eight, Arsenal recorded their 13th Premier League win over Fulham at Craven Cottage; however, it was largely a game of firsts.
For the first time since the Invincibles season, Arsenal didn’t concede a shot on target in consecutive league games.
Added to that, Bukayo Saka did something for the first time in five years in the Premier League, recording five or more successful dribbles, key passes and fouls drawn in a single match.
The data shows that the victory stood for far more than just three points, but one statistic usurps all of the above.

Arsenal made Premier League history against Fulham with another set-piece goal
Despite the records that were being matched and set against Fulham, the actual contest was dreary, with the scoreline ending in a 1-0 win courtesy of Leandro Trossard’s goal.
Trossard was Arsenal’s tenth different goalscorer in the league this season and, for other reasons, became a record-breaker.
Arsenal wrote themselves into Premier League history by becoming the first team to score ten set-piece goals as quickly as the opening eight games of the season.
No team in history has reached double figures faster than Arsenal, giving Arteta another record to add to his name.
As early as matchday eight, Arsenal are making waves in the Premier League, but it’s not the only record the Gunners will set their sights on.
Premier League corner goals record is in Arsenal’s sights
Before anything else, Arteta will want to get his hands on the Premier League title in May, but the Arsenal manager is well-placed to collect further records regardless of who wins the title.
It’s been questioned whether Arsenal’s strength from set-pieces is a good or bad thing, but such could land the Gunners a spot in Premier League history.
In the 2023/24 season, Arsenal equalled Oldham and West Brom’s tally for the most corner goals scored by a team in one Premier League season.
The record currently sits at 16, and with just under half of the tally on the board with 30 games to go, it looks as though Arteta’s side could smash the record.
The early signs from this season paint a promising picture for Arsenal, who are on course to rewrite history.
