Martin Odegaard breaks silence on Norway call-up U-turn
There has been plenty of confusion surrounding the status of Arsenal star Martin Odegaard in recent days as the captain makes his way back to full fitness.
The midfielder returned to Premier League action against Chelsea last time out, recovering from an ankle injury that sidelined him for months.
His return came as a huge boost, though what followed it was a Norway call-up for Odegaard that did frighten some fans into thinking of a potential injury repeat.
While he was handed a late call-up, that has since been overturned with the playmaker now set to stay at Arsenal for the whole break.
“I need to listen to my body, complete this rehab & get my foot back in good shape,” Odegaard said in reports following the decision.
It comes as a huge boost for the Gunners, who will now be hopeful that he can get up to top gear once again.

Arsenal eye Randal Kolo Muani January transfer
As the January transfer window inches closer, Arsenal could be looking to make some big changes to help boost their efforts in the Premier League title hunt.
The Gunners have visibly struggled to get going during the campaign as injuries, suspensions and general performances have let them down.
With plenty of points to catch up, the transfer window could help them solve the problem of a centre-forward.
So with that in mind, Arsenal Insider have been informed that Arsenal are considering a January loan move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani to help bolster their ranks.

The 25-year-old has been on the fringes at PSG since making the big-money switch in 2023, which may present an opportunity to Arsenal.

Mark Schwarzer questions Arsenal’s Victor Osimhen stance
Another centre-forward linked with a move to Arsenal has been Victor Osimhen, who was open to leaving Napoli over the summer.
The Gunners avoided making a move for the striker, who instead made a last-gasp switch to Galatasaray on loan.
He has since impressed in Turkey and could still make a move to the Emirates Stadium, given the forward troubles.
The decision not to land Osimhen in the summer was one that baffled former goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who questioned the decision on The Optus Sport Football Podcast.
“The one player [Arsenal missed out on] for me was Victor Osimhen,” he said. “His numbers are crazy… He’s a monster. A proper, old school number nine, with flair, and pace, and eye for goal.”
