Arsenal are set to face Leicester City in the Premier League, with the home side aiming to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Mikel Arteta has had to contend with key injuries and controversial red cards, but Arsenal are still unbeaten despite a difficult fixture list which saw them travel to face Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in their first three away games.

Arsenal now have several home games, but they do have further injury issues, and Arteta looks set to shuffle his pack ahead of the Leicester clash, with a Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain on the horizon.

Leicester are yet to win in the Premier League, but beating them will not be straightforward. Former Hale End product Stephy Mavididi is in excellent form, whilst Arsenal are very wary of the threat Jamie Vardy poses.

Arteta has several rotation decisions to make, but is still expected to put out a side as close to full strength as possible.

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Leicester City

Arsenal look set to be without goalkeeper David Raya, and this will likely see summer signing Neto make his debut in goal.

Ben White has not started the last two games, and Jurrien Timber could continue at right-back as the Englishman continues to deal with a knock.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are set to continue their outstanding partnership at centre-back, with Riccardo Calafiori also aiming to keep his starting place after scoring against Manchester City.

Declan Rice and Thomas Partey could continue in midfield, but Ethan Nwaneri could make his first Premier League start alongside them.

Nwaneri was exceptional in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup victory over Bolton, whilst Leandro Trossard let his side down with a careless red card against Man City, and the teenager has done enough to earn a starting spot.

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz will likely start in the front three, but the big question remains over whether Raheem Sterling, fresh from his goal against Bolton, will be selected to start over Gabriel Martinelli on the left-wing.

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Leicester: Neto, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Partey, Rice, Nwaneri, Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.

Arsenal injury update ahead of Leicester

Arteta has confirmed that Mikel Merino will not yet return, but the Spaniard could be back in full training next week.

Takehiro Tomiyasu has returned to partial training, with a return also in sight, but Martin Odegaard, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney are all absent.

Raya picked up a knock against City, and with Tommy Setford also injured, 16-year-old Jack Porter started against Bolton, and he could be on the bench as Neto’s understudy.

There are several issues, but Arsenal will still be confident of a victory to put even more pressure on Steve Cooper.
