As Arsenal prepare for a huge run to the end of the season, which could include a shot at the Champions League, attention is already turning towards squad building.

The side has issues that must be solved, either through the transfer market or in new contract negotiations.

Arsenal Insider understands that Arsenal want a striker, a winger and at least one midfielder heading into the summer transfer window.

As for contracts, Jorginho and Thomas Partey are likely to leave as free agents in the summer as more change is expected.

Arsenal want to keep William Saliba with a new contract, while he, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli all have just over two years remaining on their deals.

Another star who faces an uncertain future is Leandro Trossard, who is nearing the final year of his deal at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal “prepare” contract talks with Leandro Trossard but he could leave

It’s fair to say that Leandro Trossard has had quite the impact at Arsenal without quite cementing himself a guaranteed spot in the team each week.

The star joined from Brighton in January 2023, showing a clinical edge in some of his play by finding the back of the net.

His impact was even summed up by Mikel Arteta in 2024 when he said: “He is a little magician. He is a big threat. So composed, so cool.”

While there have been some struggles this season, Trossard has still shown some of that ability, which has brought questions about his future.

With a dwindling contract, Voetbal Krant reports that Arsenal are looking to open contract talks with the forward soon.

Despite that, there is interest in Saudi Arabia, which the 30-year-old is considering as a possible exit option.

The report states that the figures from elsewhere could make it tough to agree on a new contract with Trossard.

Leandro Trossard exit could be key in summer transfer window

With Arsenal looking to bring in another winger this summer, the likelihood is that at least one will have to move on to create some space.

Raheem Sterling’s return to Chelsea on loan could be part of that, though another permanent exit may well be on the cards.

Arsenal Insider understands one of Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard could leave Arsenal this summer to do that.

If it ends up being Trossard, that may see the Gunners move to extend the deal of Martinelli or vice-versa.

Any funds raised could then play a huge role in which player comes through as a new winger option this summer.
