Arsenal have finally received an answer on the appeal process for Myles Lewis-Skelly after the red card he picked up against Wolves.

There was plenty of controversy during the match, despite Riccardo Calafiori scoring what proved to be the winner for the Gunners late on in the match.

Despite picking up three points, focus was once again placed on the referee, with Michael Oliver’s red card for Lewis-Skelly capturing plenty of interest.

Many thought the sending-off was a mistake, with Arsenal seemingly agreeing with that sentiment.

Shortly after the decision, Arsenal made an appeal on Lewis-Skelly’s red card, looking to get it overturned.

Myles Lewis-Skelly red card appeal verdict revealed for Arsenal

After lodging an appeal on the red card for Myles Lewis-Skelly, Arsenal finally have their answer on the process.

It has been revealed that the red card has been overturned, following a decision from the panel looking at the decision.

That means he will be available for the upcoming clashes against Manchester City, Newcastle and Leicester.

It comes as a boost to Mikel Arteta, who is still hopeful of overturning a deficit in the Premier League title race and the Carabao Cup semi-final.

FA statement on Myles Lewis-Skelly red card situation

Following the decision for the Lewis-Skelly red card appeal, a full statement was released by the Football Association disclosing the situation.

It read: “An independent regulatory commission has upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to Myles Lewis-Skelly and removed his three-match suspension.

“The Arsenal player was sent off for serious foul play during their Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, 25 January, 2025.”

The successful appeal is the first for Arsenal this season, following four red cards dished out to the side.
