Gabriel Jesus is one of several Arsenal players on the comeback trail from injury, and the striker is now finally closing in on making his return.

At the start of the month, Jesus returned to Arsenal training and is gearing up to be available for selection under Mikel Arteta.

The striker has been sidelined with an ACL injury since the middle of January, when he was forced off in an FA Cup tie against Manchester United.

Arteta has been without Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres and Jesus for the last few matches, but now, the trio of players are all nearing returns.

Arsenal set injury return date for Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal are targeting a return to action for Gabriel Jesus at some stage in December, according to the Daily Mail.

The Brazilian international is another attacking option for Arteta; however, the Gunners are actually planning to sell him.

The North London club are hoping that he can soon get back to full fitness and then look to impress potential suitors ahead of the January transfer window.

But right now, the plan is to keep him around until next summer, unless a sensible offer were to arrive for him during the winter window.

The Spanish manager’s striker options are now looking stacked with Gyokeres and Havertz back, along with Mikel Merino, who is also able to cover up front.

Although for the North London derby, Gyokeres remains a doubt, and Havertz is still working to get back fully fit.

Mikel Merino could start up front against Tottenham

Merino could be forced to lead the line again for Arsenal against Tottenham on the weekend, with Gyokeres and Havertz doubtful.

Generally, the midfielder has filled in well in the number nine role; however, against Sunderland, Arsenal fans weren’t too happy with Merino’s performance.

Recently, Martin Zubimendi hailed Merino’s goal-scoring exploits, as he is the leading scorer for both Arsenal and Spain in 2025.

But for Arteta’s team, it’s not ideal to be heading into such an important game with key attackers still missing.
