Gabriel Jesus may be set to return to action soon following his hamstring injury, but Arsenal may be worried about him being rushed back.
His fitness status is up in the air, having missed Arsenal’s last five matches since being withdrawn during his side’s Champions League victory in Sevilla.
Despite his injury, Jesus has been called up to the Brazil squad, and having travelled to be tested by his National Team doctors, the initial assessment was that he would not be fit to participate during this international break.
However, it since emerged that Brazil are hoping that he will play some part against Argentina next week, which may be to the annoyance of Mikel Arteta. He will be relieved though, as there has been a breakthrough in his recovery.
Gabriel Jesus makes breakthrough in injury recovery
The striker has now been pictured training with the ball for the first time since his injury, meaning that he is in the final stages of his recovery.
This will give Brazil hope that he can play in next week’s important match against the World Champions, despite not being fully fit, but having him on the bench would give Fernando Diniz a major boost.
Arteta’s Gabriel Jesus concern

Arsenal are reportedly worried about Jesus being rushed back, given that he has suffered multiple problems already this season, and they will not want a repeat of last season as Jesus came back from the World Cup with a long-term injury.
The 26-year-old is an important player for Arteta, although there have been calls for the club to sign another striker in the January transfer window.
Jesus has been phenomenal when he has played this season, and he delivered an outstanding performance in his last game against Sevilla, providing an excellent assist for Gabriel Martinelli before powering a shot home to win the match for Arsenal.
