Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has raved about his good pal and fellow countryman Gabriel Jesus after the win against Sevilla in the Champions League last night.

The two Brazilians got on the score sheet to help Arsenal return to winning ways in the competition. Both players had a solid game, especially Jesus, who was rightly awarded the Man of the Match award.

Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli hails ‘unbelievable’ Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus has come under a fair bit of criticism at Arsenal this season, and some of them are justified.

However, if he plays every game like he did in Seville last night, he will surely become one of the best players in the world.

As a striker, you are judged by your goals and Jesus scored a stunner in the second half. However, what was even better was his assist to Gabriel Martinelli just before the break.

The £45 million man received the ball in his own half, sent two defenders to the shops with a lovely turn and then put Martinelli through on goal.

It was a fantastic move, and Martinelli was beyond impressed.

He said: “Big Gabi made the clearance to the other Gabi (Jesus), and then he was amazing with a nice skill and played it to me. I just waited for the keeper, looked at him, and I thought I couldn’t miss it again. It was good I scored!

“The guy is unbelievable, I’ve said it many times, he is so good and I love to play with him.

“He is a big player, he has played in the World Cup, Champions League, and big games in his career, so he helps us a lot. He helps me a lot, talks to me and today he was important for the team and for me as well because he gave me my assist.”

Injury scare for Jesus after Arsenal win

In the final training session at London Colney ahead of the game against Sevilla, every Arsenal player apart from Jurrien Timber took part.

That was a lovely sight, but now, there is a chance that Gabriel Jesus could find himself on the sidelines after picking up an injury last night. Mikel Arteta even claimed that he was ‘worried‘ about the issue.

However, in an interview of his own, Jesus played down the impact of his injury and even claimed that he’s ‘sure‘ it’s not too serious.

The Brazilian is expected to undergo a scan today, which will tell us the true extent of his injury. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious and he’ll be fit enough to face Sheffield United this Saturday.
