Arsenal will be desperate for better fortunes when it comes to injuries next season.

Arsenal’s injury crisis hampered their chances of landing the Premier League title as clusters of fitness problems left Mikel Arteta with an almost impossible task.

The unfortunate problem for the Gunners was the injuries came in the same positions, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli joined Bukayo Saka on the sidelines, which decimated the team’s attack.

At the beginning of the season, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino were injured at the same time, leaving midfield options very limited. However, one Arsenal player has just posted an injury recovery update and it is good news heading into the new campaign.

Jurrien Timber posts positive injury recovery update

Jurrien Timber underwent ankle surgery last month on a problem that had been causing him pain during the season.

The Dutch defender was outstanding for the Gunners last season, making 48 appearances in all competitions.

Posting on his Instagram story, Timber has now shared a video of him running in the swimming pool as he prepares to ramp up his recovery from surgery.

The player is hopeful to be part of Arsenal’s pre-season plans after Arteta made Timber play through pain during the Champions League semi-final second leg against PSG.

Jurrien Timber and Ben White must be rotated next season

Timber’s injury is a lesson that the Arsenal manager needs to learn, he cannot keep running his players into the ground.

Ben White missed a large chunk of last season however, if he can stay fit, the England international provides excellent competition for the right back spot.

Both Timber and White can play multiple positions along the back four and with both players having had fitness issues, the workload can be shared accordingly.

There are some suggestions that Arteta has lost his trust in White but after a full pre-season he will once again show that he is back to his best and ready to help end the club’s trophy drought.
