Arsenal starlet Amario Cozier-Duberry is going from strength to strength, and he performed well as England under-19s stormed to victory against Romania.
His side recorded a stunning 6-0 win in which the winger was impressive as he opened the scoring in the first minute of the game.
Cozier-Duberry is one of the best young talents coming through at Hale End, and Arsenal are keen to tie him down to a new contract amidst interest from other clubs.
Although he is yet to make his senior debut, he has been on the bench on a number of occasions, and has been compared to fellow winger and Hale End success story Bukayo Saka.
Cozier-Duberry shines for England
The 18-year-old opened the scoring at the very start of the game, as he fired a left-footed shot beyond the Romania goalkeeper to set a precedent for the rest of the game.
He also played a part in the second goal, as Jamie Donley of Tottenham Hotspur scored from a rebound from the winger’s shot, which was spilled by the goalkeeper.
Cozier-Duberry has now scored twice in three England under-19 matches this season, and he is quickly becoming a key player for Simon Rusk’s side.
Cozier-Duberry’s Arsenal opportunity
The Arsenal youngster is beginning to explode in the academy, with five goals and two assists in just seven Premier League 2 appearances this season.
A speedy dribbler with an eye for goal, he has been touted as a potential star, and could be an internal solution for Mikel Arteta, who is keen on adding a winger to his squad to provide cover for Saka.
Arsenal’s elimination from the Carabao Cup has meant that Cozier-Duberry will have to wait longer before a potential debut, but given that The Gunners are on the verge of qualification to the Champions League knockout rounds, he will hope that the final group game against PSV Eindhoven presents an opportunity for him to make his senior bow.
