Fabrizio Romano gives Ethan Nwaneri contract update

Arsenal have kickstarted contract talks with Ethan Nwaneri over a long-term deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It comes as the youngster recently scored his first goal in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest, which is a huge landmark in his career.

Nwaneri is continuing to take steps towards impressing at senior level on a regular occurrence, which means the Gunners want to tie him down for longer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano said: “Arsenal have started concrete negotiations for Ethan Nwaneri’s contract.

“They want to give him an important contract in the next [few] months probably, let’s see how much time that will take.

“We also know that Arsenal had some changes with Edu Gaspar leaving the club, Arsenal looking for a new director there is some movement around Arsenal that could affect the timing but not affect the strategy or the idea to have Ethan Nwaneri as one of the talents for present and future.”

Arsenal set Jorginho transfer stance

Arsenal star Jorginho is the subject of transfer interest heading into the January transfer window, with just a few months remaining on his contract.

There is uncertainty over his future as clubs show interest, but the Gunners have already set their stance over the midfielder.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal are set to “resist” any offers for Jorginho in the January window and intend to keep him until the end of the season.

The Italian international has made just three starts this season for the side in all competitions, with questions over his place in the team after the campaign ends.

Bukayo Saka beats Cesc Fabregas tally

Bukayo Saka found his way onto the scoresheet once again for Arsenal on their way towards three points against Nottingham Forest.

The winger’s strike was his 51st in the Premier League for the Gunners, an impressive tally for a player who is still relatively at the start of his career.

The goal saw him eclipse Cesc Fabregas – who scored 50 goals in his long career in the English division, which included spells at Arsenal and Chelsea.

It cements his place at the very top, with plenty more goals expected from the winger in the months and years ahead.
