Arsenal are targeting a winger and a striker in the summer transfer window as they look to bolster their firepower in attack.
The Gunners have fallen short in this season’s Premier League title race with many believing that the lack of ruthlessness in front of goal has been the downfall for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arsenal’s injury crisis this season has left them decimated in attacking areas in recent weeks and despite Mikel Merino doing his best as an auxiliary striker, the comparison between fellow top side’s attacks has been damning for the Gunners.
However, the summer planning has already started and Andrea Berta is Arsenal’s top sporting director target with the hope that he can help lure some top talent to the Emirates Stadium.

Nico Williams names Wilfried Zaha as football inspiration
Arsenal are ready to bring Nico Williams to the club in the summer window after having held a long term interest in the Spanish winger.
Williams has been speaking to L’Equipe and revealed a surprise name as his footballing inspiration in that of former Arsenal transfer target Wilfried Zaha.
The Athletic Bilbao star Williams stated: “Zaha, who I haven’t already named, I loved him when he was at Crystal Palace. He was a player that I loved to watch. I cut my hair like this to look like him.
“I tried to copy their (Neymar, Ronaldo, Zaha) dribbles, to copy them as much as possible and move like them, just to do 5% of what they could do.”
Zaha is now plying his trade in the MLS with Charlotte and is back in the swing of things have scored a goal on his debut for the club after a difficult time in Turkey with Galatasaray.
Unai Emery tried to sign Zaha for Arsenal instead of Nicolas Pepe
Former manager Unai Emery endured a strange summer back in 2019 when the club smashed their transfer record on Ivorian winger Nicolas Pepe.
However, Pepe was not the first choice as Emery wanted to sign Zaha in exchange for Bukayo Saka in a deal to bring the former Crystal Palace winger to North London.

Arsenal fans will be relieved that the deal never materialised given the success that Bukayo Saka has had since breaking into the team but Mikel Arteta also tried to sign Zaha back in 2021.
Zaha enjoyed an excellent career in the Premier League, making 305 appearances, scoring 68 goals and creating a further 29.
It was that form that attracted the likes of Williams to his style of play and although he never got to help Arsenal on the pitch himself, Zaha could play a hand in landing one of Arsenal’s top targets this summer
